Angelo Aguinaldo

Angelo Emilio Gutierrez Aguinaldo is a Filipino politician and the 51st Mayor of the Municipality of Kawit, Cavite. He is the great grandson of the former President of the Republic of the Philippines, General Emilio F. Aguinaldo. Aguinaldo took office at 35 years old and is one of the youngest Mayors of the municipality. He is the author of “Puso, Malasakit para sa Bayan ng Kawit” slogan. Under his administration, he initiated 3 major platforms: Alagang Aguinaldo, Aksyong Aguinaldo and Tara Sa Kawit.

Alagang Aguinaldo is the social welfare arm of the Aguinaldo platform. These are the programs and projects that are pro-people and for the marginalized. It focuses on poverty alleviation, education, empowerment of basic sector, healthcare, and other social welfare-related projects.

Aksyong Aguinaldo is the law enforcement arm of the Aguinaldo platform. These are programs and projects concerning the execution of all laws, resolutions, and directives from the local, provincial, and national government. Aksyong Aguinaldo also includes initiatives on disaster risk and reduction management and focuses on urban development issues such as traffic management and garbage collection.

Tara Sa Kawit is the tourism, business development and cultural preservation arm of the Aguinaldo platform. These are programs and projects concerning boosting Kawit’s local economy and protection of the Aguinaldo Heritage and Kawit’s rich culture and history. Under Tara Sa Kawit are programs that empower local industries that highlight key traits why Kawit is relevant and should be a place to visit.

To date, Mayor Aguinaldo is working on a new administration initiative called Magandang Kawit, focused on making Kawit clean and safe. As the first municipality after the Metro, Kawit emerges to be a booming and developing municipality with so much potential. With the Metro expanding up to these buffer zones, businesses explore opportunities in developing the municipality in general. Migration is relatively high as more people decide to start building their life in Kawit for its accessibility whether you work in the Metro or locally. Under Mayor Aguinaldo’s leadership, Kawit has become a city that offers a breeze of rural air with a slice of urban life.
